Dear Parents;
My name is Paula Hutt and I work at Our Lady of the Assumption School as the fifth grade teacher. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you my qualifications and experiences. I have a Multiple subject teaching credential as well as a Master's degree in education.
My teacher experiences afforded me the opportunity to assume all the responsibilities of an elementary teacher at multiple grade levels. Based on my experiences I have extensive knowledge in Common Core Standards, curriculum and classroom management. My teaching experience includes several urban settings with diverse student populations. I have also worked successfully with students with various disabilities. As a result, I have become proficient at designing creative and stimulating lesson plans, which accommodate multiple intelligence and keep students interested and focused.
I am a teacher because I enjoy hard work and helping others succeed. I want my students to experience meaningful, interesting learning that applies to their lives. I believe this can be accomplished through the use of hands-on/minds-on activities, cooperative learning, an integrated curriculum, and, when possible, technology and the internet. Furthermore, I ensure that every student is involved in the discussions, so as to increase the teacher student interaction. I firmly believe that every student is unique and has potential that can be evolved and improved with efforts of the teachers. I feel confident and qualified to take on the challenges that teaching offers. I am eager to demonstrate my talent and teaching skills within a school that is committed to high standards in the education of children.
As a Catholic educator, I have a special responsibility to encourage each student to achieve his/her maximum potential. I will work to stimulate the spirit of inquiry, the acquisition of knowledge and understanding, and the thoughtful formulation of worthy goals. I will help students see the relevance of a Catholic value system in their daily lives and enable students to grow in a sense of self-worth and accountability by selecting activities which promote the positive self-concept as becomes a maturing Catholic.
I am especially excited in teaching at OLA because of its demonstrated commitment to quality education, involvement of parents and community. I am very excited to be part of your child's education process. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child's goals and how I can help you meet them as a teacher. In the meantime, should you need to reach me, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hutt
